Conversation Cubes are very useful toys that any teacher can use for a few best ice breaker activities. Using conversation cubes not only bring more fun to class but also eliminate the pressure on students while having a conversation. Even shy students are engaged during any of the activities.

Team up students and give each team one conversation dice. Then they throw and answer the question that is shown on the dice. Other teammates write down the answers on a paper. Now the teacher asks students about their teammates using “John! What do you know about Jerry? – He likes to eat pizza”.
The Conversation Cubes on Amazon includes six different cubes with a total of 36 interesting questions. Though for this version of our ice breaker activity we only need one cube. Have the student stand in a circle (or semi circle). Each student gets to throw the dice and chooses a random classmate to answer the question
For this ESL ice breaker activity, teachers can use one or all the conversation cubes. But choose only one question and cover the other questions with stickers or tape. Now start from the closest student pass the cube and whoever puts the dice needs to answer the question. This game is more suitable for intermediate to advanced students
The above icebreaker activities are perfect for teenagers and adults. It’s also fine to play with kids between 6 to 12 years old but some questions on the cubes are not easy to understand. It is not recommended for ESL students less than 6 years old
