Almost no preparation required for teachers to play The ESL clothes game. Students will have so much fun and many chances to learn possessions grammar or simply learn possession related question and answers
For this game you might need to ask students bring a pair of clothes but if it’s not convinient you can use what everyone is already wearing and it’s possible to take off. Then ask them to take off their jacket, coat, shoes and etc. Put them in a big bin or hide them around the class. Now encourage them to find clothes that doesn’t belong to them When all clothes have been found, teacher asks whose [clothes] is it.
There a few things you can add for more challenges such as sorting and matching by asking kids to look around the circle to determine who is wearing a shoe that matches the one he found. Or doing some memory exercise for older students like they can look at each other’s clothes before taking them off and remember who is wearing what then after a student finds any clothes he/she needs to remember whose coat/shoe/sweatshirt it is.
A perfect game for tennagers and adults. Of course kids love it too but it might need a bit of teacher’s patient if they are less than 4.
Depends on the time, but normally it’s best for classes less than 20 kids. Have Fun!
