Like any other guessing game there is NO PREPARATION needed. fun quick game for ESL students over three years old. Use this game to review vocabularies or just a fun way to introduce new words after letting everybody know which category we are learning.
Draw a big rectangle on the board. Draw in the rectangle a variety of squiggles (lines), doodles, shapes (and colors if you have them). Ask the class what they think the picture represents. Assure the students that there is no right or wrong answer and encourage them to use their imaginations.
another way to play the guessing game is by describing what you are thinking for example if you want students to guess the word “banana” first tell them it’s a kind of fruit, it’s yellow and etc.
There is another guessing game for an esl class. You might wanna check it out @Monster Guess. It would be much more fun if you mix these two games together
This game can be fun for ages above three years old. If the kids are between 3 to 5 it’s better to explain the game in their own language and let the students know it’s great that they guessed no matter right or wrong.
As for this guessing game only needs random individual calling out what teacher is thinking, everybody is engaging and thinking and there is no limit in number of students. But I must mention for Guess What the class is going to be blown up by loud noises. Have fun!
