There are two ways to play Catch My Feelings esl/efl game. Both ways are easy with no preparation required. This ESL/EFL game is for kids, teenagers and adults. It is super fun and specially kids get very engaged in order not to miss a chance of catching a ball
For the first version you need different emotion balls as shown in the photo or something similar. These Emoji feeling and emotion balls in Amazon are quite popular to use for this activity. Put these balls in a basket and bring them to class
First off, students stand in a circle (or a semi circle) then choose one to run and pick a random emotion ball and throw (or roll) it to another student. Meanwhile others must move around in order to not get hit (if there is not enough space then just ask them to stay in the circle) . Whoever gets hit must say the emotion on the ball using a sentence such as “I’m happy” , ” I’m tired” or it could be “this is a sad ball”.
another version for “Catch my Feelings” is to use a big emotion ball. Same as small emotion balls, you can purchase it via https://amzn.to/3bl1HSD.
To play, call everyone to stand in a circle then toss the big emotion and feeling ball to a student. He/she catches and look at feelings under his/her hands to act then say it out loud.
As mentioned earlier, all ages can play Catch my Feeling. However kids under 3 years old are not able to catch or throw very well so try to roll instead. Both version of feeling games are fun. However the first one is more popular due to more physical activity during the game
Play Catch my Feelings with any class size. If there is not enough space for running adjust the game to the classroom for example roll on the table if teaching in a class with a round table or students throw the feelings ball chair to chair.
